General information, not legal advice
LemonLawMap provides general information about United States lemon laws and related warranty laws. Nothing on this website, including the LemonLawMap checker and the reports it creates, is legal advice. Using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship.
We are not a law firm
LemonLawMap is not a law firm, a government agency, a vehicle manufacturer or a dealer. We do not represent anyone in a lemon law claim.
Checker results depend on what you enter
The checker applies a state’s published rules to the facts you provide. If a date, mileage or repair entry is wrong or missing, the result can be wrong. Some dates are estimated from your mileage history and are labeled “estimated”. A result that says your vehicle “likely qualifies” means your facts meet a legal presumption; the manufacturer can still contest the claim, and a hearing officer, arbitrator or court makes the final decision.
Laws change
We verify rules against official sources and show the date of each verification. Legislatures, agencies and courts can change the rules after that date. Confirm deadlines with your state’s lemon law agency or a licensed attorney before you act, especially when a deadline is close.
When to talk to a lawyer
Talk to a licensed attorney in your state if your deadline is near, the manufacturer has denied your claim, you have been offered a settlement, or your situation involves a used, business or modified vehicle. Many state lemon laws make the manufacturer pay the attorney fees of an owner who wins.
